Well we thought the zantac was working because he seemed to be spitting up less but the last few days have been really bad again. I talked to the doctor and she told me to go ahead and try soy formula. I am going to have to adopt him out if this works because no son of mine is lactose intolerant. I am totally kidding but seriously how? I love love love milk and dairy. If this doesn't work I am going to talk to her about pepcid because i have heard from several people and read on numerous blogs that zantac didn't work for them but pepcid did. Wish us luck.
Last night we attended an infant massage class and Dane really enjoyed it. They had us start by massaging their heads. I started massaging Danes head and all the sudden he just started giggling so loud. Everyone started cracking up and I just lost it. It was so adorable. I guess it must have tickled or he thought it was just ridiculous. I will have to try it tonight after his bath to see if it helps him to sleep better.

Just gets better and better
I tell you it really does get better and better the older they get. Dane and I have so much fun these days laughing and playing. Here is a video of him and his daddy having some fun at the changing table. For some reason Dane is happy almost all the time when he is on the changing table. I think it is extra cute that he giggles when you wipe his butt.

Results are in and Doctor says....
The doctor called today and the results to Danes sonogram were completely normal. I am supposed to give the zantac a few more days to see if it is going to work before we try anything else.

Week full of doctors appointments
So Monday I took Dane to Childrens Mercy to meet with the urologist. His circumcision surgery is scheduled for June 15th. Tuesday I took him to the Pediatrician because he is constantly and I do mean constantly throwing up. My guess is that he has acid reflux. The doctor prescribed him some zantac and told me I could try Enfamil AR which has added rice and is for babies that spit up frequently. She also ordered him to have a sonogram to make sure he doesn't have some sort of tumor muscle thing in his stomach that is sometimes common in first born sons. She didn't think he does but she wants to be on the safe side. The appointment was made for Wednesday. So here we are back at Childrens Mercy. The worst part of the whole deal is that I had to make him fast for 4 hours before we went. This was so awful because he doesn't understand and he just cried and cried for like an hour because he was hungry. I just held him so he would know I loved him. When we got there they gave him a vanilla pacifier which helped. The sonogram went well and they should have the results to the doctor in a day or so. Dane was so wonderful during the whole visit. He is such a big boy. After the appointment we went and found a chair so he could chow down on a much needed lunch. Aunt Michele came down and kept us company and made him feel all better.
I wasn't too concerned about the test because I really thought it was acid reflux but neither the medicine or the formula seems to be working. He has spit up all night long. It is so bad he spits up at night too and rubs his head all in it until he wakes himself up. The positive about going to the doctor was I got to weigh him which we havent done for at least a month. Dane is now 15lbs. I am going to have to start looking for a new car seat because it only goes up to 22lbs.
Sorry if I worried everyone. Thank you for all the prayers.

3 Months Old
Dane is growing up so fast, he is now 3 months old. The last couple of weeks he has started sucking / chewing on his fists and giggling out loud. I will do just about anything to get him to laugh. I can't describe the feeling that wells up inside you when you head them laugh out loud. Being a mom is so wonderful. I feel so blessed to be able to stay home and be so involved in his everyday life. We are working on getting Dane on more of a schedule. I am understanding him more and more as he gets older. This week I have been able to lay him down fully awake and he will go to sleep on his own without any fussing. This has been our goal since day one and it feels amazing to see it actually coming into fruition. Now that we are getting his naps and sleep schedule in order he is a much happier baby. It seems like he is content and happy more frequently. The last 2 weeks he has been sleeping through the night. He goes to bed around 10:30 and gets up for the day around 9am. He may or may not get up between 4 and 6 for another feeding. I have been lucky a few times where he just slept through. I am pretty much going to bed right when he does because those who know me know I LOVE my sleep. I could sleep 12 hours a day easily. I thought I was going to die the first month when he wasn't sleeping.
Dane sure loves his daddy, Jacob is back to work so when he leaves at 2pm we do not see him again until the next morning. When Jacob gets up in the morning and starts talking Dane will just light up and immediately start smiling and talking to Jacob. It is so sweet to see him get so happy. Jacob just eats it up too let me tell you.
Next week we have an appointment at the Urologist to discuss his surgery he will have in a few months to circumcise him. Other than that we do not have another doctor appointment until next month. I wish we had another one sooner because I am curious how much he weighs. My best guess is about 14lbs. I put him on the scale with my sister to get an estimate. Last week I quit breastfeeding him completely so I won't be taking him to the group anymore. It was not an easy decision because for some reason there is so much guilt attached to nursing but I finally just decided to stop. Now the hard part is finding a formula that doesn't make him gassy and spit up all the time. I am happy that I could do it for the 3 months that I did. I know that he benefited from it at least that long.
